I call these games swarm survivor RPGs. Duel sticks or moving with only one stick fits both types. Vampire survivors and scaler tower seems to really fit the swarm survivor RPG category really well. Binding of Isaac also fits here

Dude there's gonna be so many characters and cards missing at launch. Plus as far as I can tell the servers will be separate, which means I can't share my horses and cards with friends. 😢 I'm really looking forward to seeing how the characters get localized. Fully agreed with all of that. It's really easy to fall into their trap, and even easier if everyone has the same zombie hivemind mindset of "oh, well that's just how it is." Ironically, Persona 5 addresses this issue with society perfectly, yet the fans of the game are probably the ones most victim to these bullshit business practices (in this instance). Small mention. I did end up getting the Premium edition of Reload running under the assumption it was something akin to an expansion pass like what Smash Ultimate had. That would make sense since people are paying extra for a game, getting a bunch of extra content without the fear of getting completely ripped off since all future DLC is going to be given to them as it releases (you know, the very concept and definition of an expansion pass). However, this is the very first time when I've ever seen something like this happen. There's not only day 1 DLC, but that day 1 DLC is completely separate from this MONTH 1 DLC. And that's the BASE issue. Let's talk about the price. Can we all be honest and say the only reason anyone would buy this is for The Answer? Realistically, that would only be about 15 bucks. 20 MAX. However, I and many others find it plausible the reason this was made as an expansion pass rather than just more individual DLC packs was to inflate the price for The Answer. They know The Answer is what we want. However, they are also greedy pigs who want to suck more money out of our pockets than Kaneshiro's Piggytron. So, it's likely their solution was to add the music and Velvet Room costumes JUST to "justify" the hefty price of the DLC. Here's the biggest issue in my eyes: this is all DLC. That everyone has to PAY FOR. When in reality, this all should have been IN THE BASE GAME. I don't want to hear anyone saying "oH bUt WhAt AbOuT tHe ReSoUrCeS," because that is NOT an excuse to do us all dirty with this shit. A lot of people, myself included once again, assumed Reload would be more than just a remake of Persona 3, but the DEFINITIVE VERSION OF THE GAME. That means all the extra content from FES and Portable INCLUDED with the already expensive $70 price tag. Also, while making games is expensive, you can't convince me ATLUS didn't predict the game selling INCREDIBLY WELL within the first WEEK. Over a MILLION COPIES SOLD. If I'm correct, they ALREADY made back EVERY LAST YEN they spent in development. And, there's more where that came from since the game is obviously still making money. That won't stop soon either. However, the fact of the matter is, whenever remakes are discussed, the implication is additions and improvements, NOT OMISSIONS. We should've had FeMC, and we should've had The Answer the moment the game released. And that first one isn't even official, it's being made by fans as a mod. Finally, the cherry on top to this whole shitshow. It really is dumb how this DLC isn't included in the Deluxe, Premium, and even Aigis edition's of the game. We paid extra money for more content in the game, expecting it to be the entire package, only to find out the box had been torn and can only be fixed with another price tag. For the people who bought the base game alone, maybe that's more understandable since they got the game and nothing else. So, if they want to pay extra for more content, they can. However, for the people who already did, they should be entitled to this. Final verdict: I'm either doing one of two things. 1, waiting for a sale, and one that's 50% off or more. I haven't played The Answer before and want to experience it with Reload's QoL changes to the battle system, because it seems fun and I know the flaws of FES were part of why The Answer isn't looked back upon all too fondly. But you got me fucked up if you think I'm paying full price for this. Or, 2. Not buy it at all, and that's just to make the statement that this shit is not okay and should be frowned upon by consumers and developers alike. The secret third option is to wait for ATLUS to finally hear our calls and include this expansion pass with the additional paid versions, but that likelihood is astronomically small, so I'm not counting on it. Tl;dr, ATLUS is bullshit for this DLC for several reasons, and I'm either getting it on sale or not at all.
